"In The Bleak Midwinter"

"In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
in the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Heaven cannot hold Him, nor the earth sustain;
heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
the Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
but His mother only, in her maiden bliss,
worshiped the Beloved with a kiss.

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
if I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
yet what I can I give Him: give my heart."

Food For Thought:

Today was a hard day...long. Realizing in the midst of chaotic circumstances that I have a problem that needs to be dealt with. I've decided to deal with it. Telling yourself the truth is always the best thing to do even though it's not always the easiest.

In my own bleak midwinter I praise God that he loves me despite my faults and that he gave his only Son to die for me to redeem my soul to heaven.

Today I gather up all my troubles and woes and give them over to God as I think, "Christ was born for this, Christ was born for this!"

It will truly be a happy Christmas Day for me this year. I hope for all of you too.
