Back in Action

Wow, it's been a busy week and 1/2. Work and personal life very busy.

Aaron and I are looking forward to the 4 day weekend we have planned this Friday through Monday.

Between our health issues - Aaron had a virus, Baby is over his virus, and I'm having serious dizzy spells - and our home repairs/upgrades, there is hardly a moment that we are at rest.

I am so happy that I am not on a special diet where I have to read what medication to take and read what to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, that I feel free. We are following the Mediterranean and Asian diets, eating less, exercising more and cutting back on the alcohol. It's so simple. The weight will come off I'm sure. Obviously, since I've been at this for over 6 months with very little weight loss, it's been very difficult for me and it's frustrating but I'm not going to concentrate on how frustrated I am. I'm going to enjoy my summer, eat the foods I know I can have, stay away from the ones I shouldn't eat, go for walks, have fun with friends and not worry so much about this diet thing.

I do have an appointment with an ENT specialist who is also a surgeon on July 15th. My family doctor thinks my dizziness is from either viral labyrinthitis, a medication that I'm on - fluoxetine - or possibly a benign tumor in my inner ear.

Last night we ate tuna melts with olive oil, green olives, almonds, green onions and capers on top of whole grain english muffins and 2% american cheese melted on top.

Tonight I am making salmon filets with scrambled eggs and a spinach salad. Yum!

Here's to you!
