100th Posting!

Well hello there, I hope all of you had a long, relaxing and enjoyable weekend. We sure did.

I spent most of my time outside making minor repairs, decorating upgrades and painting various outdoor fixtures. I had a ball!

Our friend from work who is from India made us a whole curry chicken for our dinner Thursday night. I served it with a salad and some Ramen noodles. It was fantastic! He made the curry with yogurt, ginger, garlic, cumin, cilantro, and what he calls Opium seeds - poppy seeds! He is an excellent cook.

Friday we had a grilled steak, corn and mashed potatoes at our friends - Ray and Kortnee's house and met a very nice couple at their party and quickly became friends.

Saturday we went to Johnny's Chop House in Antioch. Aaron and Mom had Grecian Chicken and I had coconut shrimp. It was the best I've ever had.

Sunday I had such a taste for crabcakes so I went grocery shopping and bought some lump crabmeat and made them for my family. They turned out great. I used Italian bread torn to shreds instead of breadcrumbs and the consistency was very good. I served some mussels, a salad, creamed corn, pickles and olives to go with it.

Monday we were off too and decided to do a simple meal - Mom's idea. We made some diet hotdogs!

Aaron took me out for breakfast on the 4th of July to Triangle in Grayslake. I had some of the best eggs benedict that I've ever had.

It was truly a delicious weekend. But we didn't go overboard. I'm enjoying not being on a special diet. We are still making a great effort to eat less, exercise more, drink less, laugh more and get better sleep. We are feeling better for it.

Enjoy your week.
